4PL

A fourth-party logistics provider (4PL) is a comprehensive supply chain integrator that oversees all aspects of the logistics process. In addition to managing physical logistics, a 4PL may also be involved in IT, procurement, and finance, among other areas.



COD collection fee

This is the fee assocaited with collection of cash at the time of delivery levied by courier partners.This fee is used to incentivise delivery executives to collect and safegaurd funds collected at the time of delviery and is also used to cover the charges incurred by courier partners in facilitating collection either via electronic means or hard cash, safegaurding these funds and processing them for remittance. This is usually calcaulted as the maximum of a fixed value or a percetnage of the amount collected



Bulk Shipping

Bulk shipping in logistics refers to shipping large quantities of packages. In most usual cases these packages are not packed individually but directly loaded in a vehicle or a vessel. For eCommerce sellers these types of demands may arise, that is why it is important to work with a carrier partner that allows you to do bulk shipping.



Fake delivery attempt

An unauthorized or false claim of a delivery attempt, often used as a cover-up for non-delivery or improper handling.


