Last mile delivery

Last-mile delivery refers to the process of transporting goods from the distribution center to their final destination i.e. the door of the end customer The process of order fulfillment ends with this step. It is important to choose the shipping partner carefully in order to streamline last mile delivery.



COD

COD stands for Cash on Delivery and enables customers to pay for their orders using cash or a credit card when their orders are delivered. COD is a preferred and most common form of payment method used by eCommerce shoppers other then UPI and Debit cards.



Freigth Charges

Freigth Charges refer to the cost of movement of shipments from the origin destination to drop destiation. This is function of the weight of the shipment and the distnace travelled. Zones are used as proxies for distance travelled while calculating freight charges and the shipping weight (max of dead and volumteric weight) is used as the metric to measure weight of shipments



The shipment is currently en route and is between the sender and the recipient.


